SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
Reporting to the Project Director, the Senior Project Engineer will assist the Project Director to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of the completed project and successful start up of operations.
The key roles and accountabilities include:
* Coordinate of underground mining works implementation with the plant and port construction.
* Assist with implementation of schedule, budget and reporting for the project.
* Engage key personnel required for development of the mine, process plant and port development.
* Supervise company personnel both on site and internationally to achieve project development requirements.
* Liaise with site land acquisition and community development teams to achieve project requirements.
* Supervise the EPCM Contractor to develop final plant design, procurement and contracting and coordinate the construction and commissioning of the works.
* Establish the necessary agreements with local and regional authorities and stakeholders to ensure that the facilities can be constructed and start up of operations is unimpeded.
* Ensure compliance by the company with OH&S, environmental and management standards.
* Liaise with the Mines Department, Manpower Department and other authorities as required to facilitate project development.
* Review of project transport logistics during operations and establishment of contracts for transportation of the concentrate between the site and the port.
* Establish contracts for all consumable and spares requirements for start up of project.
The successful candidate will possess the following key criteria:
* Recognized tertiary/degree qualifications in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* 5-10 years project management experience in ‘greenfields’ mining development/construction projects.
* Demonstrated skills in report writing, spreadsheets, databases, costing systems, budgets and forecasts.
