Investment Manager covering China A markets
Key Accountabilities
* Investment Process / Philosophy
To maintain a thorough understanding of the investment philosophy and process of PEAM. To comply with this philiosophy and process at all times and to be proactive in suggesting improvements to the process and to the CIO.
* Investment Skills
To develop and maintain an investment skill set that generates risk adjusted absolute returns. This skill set should cover:
* Investment theory and Quantitative Techniques – maintain a thorough knowledge of basic investment theory and the quantitative tools used
* Analysis of the qualitative factors relevant to a company
* Security analysis – analysis of cash flows, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, DCF etc and the ability to judge when our valuation of companies based on the above analysis is discounted by the markets.
* Macro economic analysis – maintain a detailed knowledge of the corresponding, economic and financial trends of your assigned countries and their impacts on markets, sectors and stock models.
* Political analysis – maintain knowledge of the political situation and its potential impact on your assigned countries.
* Portfolio Construction – construct sensible stock models that blend with the investment themes and philosophy.
* Compliance
To maintain a full understanding of, and to comply with, all regulatory (SEC, SFC, CSRC), legal and corporate requirements that impact your role within PEAM. Targets for no monetary errors. When they do take place, to ensure that any breaches of these are promptly and fully reported to the CIO and the Compliance Officer.
* Investment Research
* To visit assigned companies and to produce detailed research reports to the required PEAM standard.
* To actively contribute to the Investment team, with the objective to add value in the China A share portfolio & Greater china portoflio.
* To plan and make own visits in China and to produce detail research reports to a required standards.
* To produce summary reports on findings from meetings /conference calls.
* Meetings
To contribute fully to the discussion in stock meetings and work as a member of the investment team, thus helping to promote the team culture of PEAM and ensure performance objectives are met.
* Coinvesting
To align interest between PEAM and fund manager , the manager has the opportunity to coinvest with PEAM in assigned portfolio.
* Performance
For assigned portfolio, to be responsible for the achievement of :-
1. risk controlled absolute return within the parameters set by PEAM
2. Parameters set is a function of liquidity requirement, position limits, sector and mkt cap limits
3. consistency of returns over a rolling time intervals of 12 months and more.
Requirements:-
* Good degree in Finance / Accounting from a reputable university. MSc, MBA in Finance or CFA highly preferred.
* Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in fund management industry
* Experienced in the Hong Kong, China and Taiwan equity markets
* Candidates with some private equity investment experience will have an advantage
* Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
* Strong analytical abilities and good communication skills
