Pursuits Leader

In the role of the Pursuits Leader you will facilitate the entire pursuit, from development of pursuit strategy, to scheduling and conducting internal pursuit meetings, to preparing the client service team for all client interaction. You will align all top end pursuit activities with EY’s objectives and drive the process to uncover all needs and issues of the target. You will work alongside the Global Client Service Partner to build the appropriate team in response to the engagement opportunity. You will also participate in client-facing activities where advantageous to the pursuit strategy and objectives in order to help better understand and confirm current client relationship and service expectations.
This role requires proven leadership skills to drive the momentum of the campaign and ensure the strategy properly positions the firm’s thought leadership, global capabilities, resources, and overall credentials to positively distinguish EY from competitors.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze the potential opportunity and validate its viability in terms of the firm’s objectives, EY resources available to service the client, and current position in the overall competitive landscape
* Build and organize the pursuit team and ensure resources have the appropriate experience and competencies to respond effectively to the potential client’s needs
* Evaluate effectiveness of the personal chemistry between the client serving team and that of the client’s decision makers and adjust or coach the team accordingly
* Act as a liaison between the client’s leaders and firm representatives on an on-going basis
* Co-develop communications strategies with Pursuit Managers, helping to devise key themes and messages
* Serve as a value proposition specialist and help evaluate business issues and service responses required to meet the target’s needs
* which illustrate the strengths and benefits the team/firm brings to bear to address the client’s needs
* Lead all members of the pursuit team to ensure that duties are shared appropriately and enthusiasm and motivation remain high
* Review the proposal process, timeline and procedures established by the Pursuit Managers, and monitor progress on an on-going basis
Requirement
* A bachelor’s degree or significant work experience in a related field such as English, Public Communications, or Journalism
* Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in account or project management
o Broad-based experience in marketing and/or sales/management
o In-depth knowledge of EY’s products and services, and an understanding of the business issues of the companies targeted
o Ability to establish and build relationships with the Service Line Markets Leaders, and Area BD Leaders in order to mine for the correct opportunities and longer term pursuit targeting
o Excellent writing and communications skills in English
o Proficiency in MORE, DIVE, SOM, ECE and FTEE methodologies and ability to apply to writing, analysis and project management
* A master’s degree (MBA) is preferred
