Accounts assistant

Responsibilities

- Maintain partial or full sets of accounts

- Perform administrative duties as needed

- Ensure accounts are prepared according to statutory requirements

Requirements

- Minimum Diploma holder with minimum one year of accounting and GST experience

- Knowledge of Quickbooks or MYOB preferred

- Proficient in English

- Must be Singapore citizen, PR or Malaysian

We are seeking a good team player that is hardworking and committed. You must be able to handle confidential information with integrity. Working hours 9-6pm five days a week. Daily transport from MRT provided.

About Us
AET is a subsidiary of AET Tanker Holdings, which is a private limited liability company incorporated in Malaysia. Our principle activity is investment holding and the main activities of its subsidiaries include ship owning, ship operations and other functions relating to petroleum logistics.

About You
You are responsible for the accounting and administrative tasks relating to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions for the assigned operating entitles. Support financial closing for assigned operating entitles.

Accountabilities

* Perform the processing of accounts payable transactions in a timely and accurate manner to ensure on-time payment to vendors and employees.
* Responsible for the accuracy of account coding used for accounts payable transactions to support accurate management reporting.
* Verify that accounts payable transactions are done in compliance with all company financial policies, governance rules and procedures in order to maintain a strong control environment.
* Ensure all accounts payable invoices are properly logged into Oracle EBS upon receipt in order to maintain an accurate inventory of outstanding items.
* Provide management with daily cash balances report for assigned bank accounts to support the effective management of the company’s working capital.
* Produce reporting to support consumption tax (e.g. VAT, GST) filings within stated deadlines to ensure company compliance with all federal and local laws & regulations.
* Liaise with the Global Accounting team perform a reconciliation to ensure that all relevant accruals and prepayments are posted into Oracle EBS prior to the monthly financial closing.
* Work with relevant internal groups to reconcile the interfacing of accounts payable transactions from feeder systems into Oracle EBS to ensure vendors have been paid as expected and that Oracle EBS provides an accurate record of the companies’ liabilities
* Attend to accounts payable inquiries from both internal and external parties promptly in order to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Background and experience

* Diploma or Degree in Accounting
* Possess at least 2 years Account Payable experience
* Good knowledge of Purchase to Pay concept
* Proficiency with MS Word & MS Excel
* Experience with accounting software
* Meticulous, Self motivated and disciplined
* Comfortable working in fast paced environment and also diverse culture
* Proactive communicator
